The Sorrows of Mary:

The Burial of Jesus

My sorrowful Mama, I see that You dispose Yourself to the final sacrifice of having to give burial to your lifeless Son Jesus.  Most resigned to the Will of God, you accompany Him, and You place Him in the Sepulcher with your own hands.  But as You compose those limbs and are about to give Him the last goodbye and the LAST KISS, you feel your heart being torn from your breast because of the pain.

Anguishing Mama, I see You give the last goodbye to the pierced Heart of Jesus.  Here you pause.  It is the last assault to your maternal heart; you feel it being torn from your breast because of the vehemence of love and pain and, by itself, it runs to place itself in the Most Holy Heart of Jesus.  And you, in seeing Yourself without a heart, hasten to take His Most Holy Heart into yours-His love rejected by many creatures, His many ardent desires not fulfilled because of their ingratitude, and the pains and piercings of that Most Holy Heart, which will keep you crucified for the rest of your life. In looking at the wide wound, you kiss it, you lap up the Blood; and feeling the Life of Jesus in Yourself, You have the strength to fulfill the bitter separation.  Then you embrace Him, and You allow the sepulchral stone to close on Him.

THE SEVEN SORROWS ROSARY

(Using the Seven Sorrows rosary beads or the traditional rosary beads)

Introduction- The Sign of the Cross

Opening Prayer

My God, I offer to You these little beads of sorrow for your greater Glory in honor of Your Holy Mother.  I will meditate and share Your suffering.  I beg for the tears of true repentance for my sins.

Repeat the following three times:

To me, a sinner, and to all sinners, grant perfect contrition for our sins.

Act of Contrition:

O My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, behold me kneeling before Thy Divine Presence, all in confusion at the thought of the many grievous injuries I have done Thee.  Now I ask pardon for them, repenting of them, purely for love of Thee and ready to lose my life rather than offend Thee again. Do Thou, most tender Virgin, Mother of Mercy and Refuge of Sinners, obtain for me the pardon of all my sins by virtue of thy bitter pains. Help me to pray as, to gain all the graces attached to this devotion.

Amen

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, kindle in them the Fire of Thy Love. Send forth Thy Spirit and we shall be created.

And Thou shall renew the faith of the earth.

Let us Pray:

Enlighten our minds, we beseech Thee, O Lord, with the light of Thy brightness, that we may see what we are to do and be able to do is right, through Christ, Our Lord.

Amen
